Functional Job Analysis
Employment Screening
Primary prevention and health promotion are health protection measures that prevent injury and illness. Primary prevention of illness and injury in the workplace is a major factor in cost savings to employers.
JobCare offers a variety of services to assist employers in providing a work environment safe for employees, as well as assisting with screening employees to determine physical abilities to perform the work required.
Functional Job Analysis:
A Functional Job Analysis (FJA) is performed on each job position before screenings are implemented. An FJA is a detailed analysis and description of job duties and physical activities that identify the essential and nonessential functions of the job.
Screening through a Post-Offer Assessment insures the employer that their potential employee is healthy and physically fit to perform the tasks of the job offered. If the potential employee does not fit the criteria for employment, the job offer may be rescinded.
Other primary prevention methods could include health and wellness talks, safety demonstrations and annual health fairs. Basic medical screenings can be offered as Secondary Prevention which is early detection and treatment.
Case Management is Tertiary Prevention which is the prevention of disability which includes rehabilitative efforts.
